Happy Easter to all you amazing adventurers, wherever you may be in the world and whatever gaming system you’re currently enjoying!
It’s mid-April already—can you believe it? If someone had told me I’d be spending this time creating and documenting the game of my dreams, I wouldn’t have believed them. Yet, here I am, and there’s a lot of exciting progress underway!
As I write this, I’m busy expanding the game’s immersive world, having recently mapped out an eerie haunted manor. From the outside, it appears as nothing more than a forgotten, decaying home. Inside, however, is another reality entirely—a world transformed by outsiders who once sought a legendary treasure. My goal is to craft an experience that not only captivates but also redefines how we think about narrative-driven games.
Today’s gamers have grown accustomed to sprawling open-world sandbox experiences, and while there’s certainly enjoyment to be found there, I’ve personally grown disillusioned. Many titles that market themselves as “open world” fall short in quality and imagination, yet come with staggering price tags. Games shouldn’t drain your wallet or leave you disappointed. They should inspire joy, creativity, and adventure without breaking the bank.
Recently, while shopping at Walmart, I saw a PS5 priced just shy of a thousand dollars—I couldn’t help but laugh and shake my head in disbelief. Has gaming always been this expensive? My fondest memories involve games written decades ago—titles discovered on shareware discs, crafted lovingly by creators who poured their hearts into each line of code. These games, often forgotten today, sparked our imaginations and offered limitless worlds through the sheer power of storytelling.
Have you ever considered how many of those early game creators might no longer be with us? Their dreams, passions, and creativity now exist only as faint memories, archived digitally on sites like Internet Archive, rarely revisited. Reflecting on this moved me profoundly and inspired the creation of my project, “The Labyrinth of Time’s Edge.” I’m pouring my soul into this game, meticulously documenting each step, not just for players to enjoy but also to leave behind something meaningful for my kids—a testament to my passion for storytelling and creative freedom.
In today’s world, it’s incredible that we can share our dreams and creations freely with anyone around the globe. As you celebrate this beautiful holiday weekend, I encourage you to remember that life truly is what you make of it. Follow your dreams, find what moves you, and don’t hesitate to pursue it.
To the five amazing subscribers of this blog and everyone who has downloaded the latest version of my game, thank you from the bottom of my heart. Your support means more than you know.
Happy Easter, adventurers! Until next time, keep to the light of the path.
