Greetings, fellow adventurers!
Welcome to a black-and-white fantasy text adventure that will transport you into the depths of absolute wonder. This is no ordinary game—it is a living, breathing labyrinth of mystery, crafted with care and dedication to bring forth a world unlike any other. Every passing day, a new portion of this universe is woven into existence. As of now, I have meticulously designed 1,464 unique rooms within this ever-expanding odyssey.
But the journey does not end there. Even now, I am deep in the process of constructing 143 additional chambers—a perilous expansion leading into the chaotic heart of the God’s Crypt. This forsaken domain twists and shifts, its corridors defying logic, its secrets whispering of forgotten deities and ancient rites. To wander these halls is to step into the unknown, to challenge one’s understanding of fate and destiny.
This is what I strive for: a game that never ceases to evolve, an ever-changing story woven in the fabric of QBasic—a programming language that, in my honest opinion, remains one of the greatest ever created. Each new location is not just a room but a fragment of a larger mythos, a puzzle piece in an ever-growing enigma.
Among the places you may stumble upon:
- The Endless Observatory, where shattered timepieces hang suspended in the void, ticking in silent rebellion against time itself.
- The Whispering Catacombs, where walls murmur forgotten names, and every echo might be something more than just your own footsteps.
- The Shrouded Market, a gathering place where phantoms barter in cryptic riddles, trading dreams and memories instead of coin.
- The Labyrinthine Library, where books rewrite themselves as you read, and every turn of a page could lead to a new reality.
- The Sunken Sanctum, an underwater temple where drowned gods dream in silence, waiting for one foolish enough to wake them.
I have always been a wanderer within the worlds I play, exploring every shadowy corner, chasing the whispers of hidden lore. Perhaps that is why, in The Labyrinth of Time’s Edge, every step reveals another room—another chance to uncover the unseen. This is a journey without end, a story that reshapes itself as you push forward into the unknown.
As of this moment, version 2.3 is available for you to experience. This time, I have even included the source code—so that you, too, may glimpse the intricate beauty of a text adventure written entirely in QBasic.
I won’t lie—there is something deeply special about playing a great text adventure. The ability to shut out the world, dim the lights, and let your imagination carry you into the abyss of adventure… There is no feeling quite like it.
So take a deep breath, step forward, and lose yourself in the ever-changing corridors of The Labyrinth of Time’s Edge. Who knows what secrets await?
